Your Reasons Drive Results

Your personal reasons can propel you to achieve great results in your business

How do you feel when you wake up in the morning? Are you excited to embrace the day ahead and work towards your goals, or are you just living each day as it comes?  In addition to knowing what you are doing, you need to be clear on why you are doing it. Your reasons drive your results. You may also hear this as understanding “your WHY”

To start, look at each of these five areas of your life:

  1. Health and Vitality

  2. Wealth and Contribution

  3. Mindset and Personal Growth

  4. Travel and Adventure

  5. Relationships and Connections

Think big and imagine “what if?” What are your personal goals in each of these areas of your life? Make a list of the things you want to accomplish and experience by December 31st of this year. Think of this list as things on your personal bucket list. The items you include need to be written as if they are already true.

Here are some examples:

  1. I played...

  2. I skied...

  3. I ran…

  4. My health is...

  5. I wake up energized every morning at __ a.m.

  6. I reduced my debt to...

  7. I invested in...

  8. I feel…

  9. I donated to...

  10. I learned to...

  11. I traveled to...

  12. I went to...

  13. I reconnected with...

  14. I saw...

  15. I have an amazing relationship with ...

Now look at this list and pick the 3 most important statements from the entire list. These statements become “your Big 3” for this year.

How to Use your Big 3:

  1. Rewrite your Big 3 for the year, every Sunday when you do your weekly planning.

  2. Read the complete list of your reasons every evening before you go to bed.

  3. At the end of every quarter, check where you are at right now in those same 5 areas. Give yourself a rating from 1 to 5. 1 if it’s weak and in a state of disease. 3 if it’s in a state of wellness but still needs some work. 5 if it’s amazing and in a state of greatness.

  4. Decide what’s next for you to move into a state of greatness, for these 5 areas.

Keeping the details of this list top of mind can keep you calm when it’s chaotic and pick you up when your day didn’t go as planned.
